Ancient Holiday Craft traditions (WAS RE: Best Practice for reviewing documents)
Subject:Ancient Holiday Craft traditions (WAS RE: Best Practice for reviewing documents) From:"Giordano, Connie" <connie -dot- giordano -at- twcable -dot- com> To:"Clare Turner" <cturner -at- redflex -dot- com>, <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 20 Dec 2005 17:23:49 -0500
We did those, but we used tissue paper that my mother spent hours
cutting in to 1 inch by 6 inch strips. Lots of green tissue paper, and
one sheet of red so you could get the holly berry look every so often.
One year one of my sisters got to do one with white tissue paper and
occasional aluminum foil--I was so jealous.
My father had the hardest job, he had to bend a metal clothes hanger
into a circle so we could tie all the strips onto it, and then we had a
ready-made hook. I used to be mad that the other kids had rounder
hangers than I did.
Is somebody capturing all these instructions for the "Techwhirler Guide
to Holiday Handicrafts"? The young 'uns in the group ought to be
grateful that we codgers can remember how to do this stuff.
Happy holidays from one of those who's slightly younger than Dick...
Connie

My mother used them as doorstops ;-)
My turn: tissue flowers and wreaths? (made with Kleenex(tm) or other
brands). My sister and I spent hours creating them...
