I recently ran across a product that struck me as an online alternative to Outlook. I haven't ever used it myself, but it might fit the bill...or at least be on the right track. It looks like they charge a monthly fee however.

Subject: Web-based scheduling plugin?
Folks,
What I'm looking for is a free or cheap Web-based scheduling widget for
a medical office. It needs to have something equivalent to the Outlook
calendar's meeting scheduler functionality so that there is a view
showing everyone's availability at a glance; but it also has to
accommodate detailed notes per appointment. Finally, it has to allow a
receptionist to schedule appointments for doctors, rather than insisting
on each person maintaining her own calendar.
Downloads.com has a few candidates, but I was hoping someone here might
know of a better one.
The site hosting company supports ASP code and MS SQL, Access, and MySQL
databases; so the solution would have to be consistent with that
infrastructure.
The solution does not need to be free, but it shouldn't be hundreds or
thousands of dollars, either. Under $200 would be good. Free would be
better.
