Subject:Re: Screen captures for MAC From:Laura Lemay <llemay -at- gmail -dot- com> To:Sylvie Picquendar <sylvie -dot- picquendar -at- atempo -dot- com> Date:Thu, 5 Jan 2006 09:05:23 -0800
Use Grab (comes with the mac) to do screen shots. It saves as tiff.
Then use any number of programs to convert to GIF files. I would
personally use GraphicConverter, which isn't free, but is worth the
$30 shareware fee because its batch conversion is incredible and it
supports everything. Actually GraphicConverter comes bundled with a
bunch of Mac systems so it may very well be free depending on the mac
you're using.
There is also a folder action script that comes with the mac that
converts TIF to JPEG. It is a single-word modification to change this
script to convert to GIF (image manipulation is built into the mac
scripting system). If you have someone who knows applescript at your
company they can make this modification for you and install it on your
system; then you just have to drop your tif files onto the folder to
convert them. I would give you more details (including the script)
but I'm at work and we use windows. :(
