TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
This is where the info needed drives data to be
collected and processes to be performed. This means
doing logical data modeling before doing logical
functional modeling (and before doing physical data
modeling). We talked about such an approach on the
requirements engineering listserv. Consensus: Wont
work, functional modeling has to always proceed data
modeling because data modeling does not prod you
through a rigorous analysis - only functional modeling
does.
Impact on documentation planning? Are you TWs going
to be doing the info designing or will you be using
the info design from another group as an input?
