TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'll try this post again. I sent it an hour ago, but my first one
hasn't come through yet....
One more vote for having never heard of StarDock. Maybe you should ask
your co-worker what StarDock is and what it does. Let her try to sell
you on it. If it really is one of her pet programs, maybe she can give
you a compelling reason to use it.
As for SnagIt, I'd encourage you to download a free trial before you
pass judgement. You can get a free trial at SnagIt's website:
Two reasons SnagIt is better than PrintScreen include: (1) You can
easily capture scrolling windows; (2) You can easily capture cascading
menus.
It also greatly simplifies capturing a region or object on the screen.
And it lets you take more screen shots faster than trying to do it
with PrintScreen.
Your mileage may vary, but you can download a free trial to decide for yourself.
