I would say the demands being made on you are
unreasonable *if* they are not being managed. As a writer and not a manager, you report to some
manager, and it is the responsibily of that manager
to assess the demands against capacity and prioritize
them for you. If this is not being done, then what you
should do is assess your own capacity, then bring
together all the people making these demands, let them know what that capacity is and have them thrash
out what the priorities for the company's documents
are. If neither of these approaches is effective, then
lousy or not it may be time to explore that local job
market.

I feel kind of overloaded and a bit ticked off about
the lack of any kind of job mobility. I'd like some
opinions - do this position or workload seem
unreasonable to anyone else? I would appreciate advice
on how to deal with the situation.

If it matters, I'm genuinely not looking for pity. I
sincerely want to know if others feel my situation is
out of the ordinary, or if this sort of thing is
generally considered acceptable. The input would help
me decide my course of action. Thanks.

PS: The job market for technical writing where I live
*REALLY* sucks.
