It's normal, but not necessary. Start properly scoping and estimating
your workload on projects and build in the time for the non-product
projects as well. Put things on a priority list and timeline. Pretty
soon they'll start seeing that there's more work than one person can
get done in a reasonable timeframe. But you have to do this
consistently, so when you face your first beet-red project
manager/leader demanding docs NOW you can call a meeting and negotiate
the reprioritization with all stakeholders.
