RE: The non-learning organization?
How do you cope when you see your organization making very, very, basic errors?
Like adding a major feature to a release halfway through development, without changing the schedule or personnel, with the entirely predictable result that everyone works like crazy for six months, some people quit (schedule still doesn't change), and the product as released is barely stable enough to call a beta?
Well. Frankly, I tend to say nothing. Mostly because it happens just about every time we have a release. Unless you work for NASA (and I don't), it seems that all software has these issues. Twice in the past three years, we've had a completed project CANCELLED for no reason, after months of overtime, etc.
So, how do I cope? You see, I have this little flask in my desk.... ;)
