Across is the least fitting for the context. I know it is often used,
and I suspect nobody would notice if you used it. In Webster's New
Collegiate 11th, all the definitions of collaborate offer similar verbs
that use the preposition "with". The etymology of the word is from Late
Latin "labor together", which seems to indicate that "with" would be
preferred.
Ah, I love pedantry...
