I hope you immediately had a talk with your new manager about this.
You can be fired for such things. Home contact info and especially
salary info are sentitive, private bits of info. The home address
should be shared sparingly as needed, but the salary info should never
be shared with anyone outside your chain of command. And in the event
this person blows you off, well, many here would say "don't make
waves" but I, personally, would go straight to HR and explain what
happened AND the fact that this person doesn't really seem to care
that it DID happen.
But that's me. I hold myself to fairly high standards when it comes to
sensitive employee information, and I expect other managers to do the
same. Anything less is extremely unprofessional.
