RADAR - initialism, and acronym

USA, EU - initialisms, not acronyms

SCSI (pronounced 'scasi/scazy'): not initialism,
acronym

ODI (one-day international: a game of cricket
played out in one day, as opposed to 5 or 6):
this was initially o-d-i (initialism),
increasingly now it is pronounced 'odie'

>> Moral: all initialisms are potential acronyms.

EU can become 'you' and USA, oozer

===

Initialism _is_ a pedantic distinction.
