Amanda, check out our site: http://stc-suncoast.org. It is an example of a
blog functioning as a website. With WordPress, you can create both static
and dynamic pages.

Hi Amanda,

I can recommend MamboServer (www.mamboserver.com) as a cheap (free) CMS
solution for any community. You can add modules such as forums,
calendars, blogs, etc as well as publish the usual array of static and
dynamic pages. It's a bit of a steep learning curve to install and set
up. Once up and running though updates are easy and can be done by
anyone. You could set up user privileges for example so that Joe the
Butcher can only update his own information, and limit what is
changeable on vendor type pages.

Hi all--

Does anyone know of a good web community software package for a site
about a small town? I am in a town on business that as a growing
community of young professionals and I was thinking that it would be a
fun tech writing project to build a site that has profiles of local
businesses (like citysearch), user profiles with blogs photos and links
(like myspace), a group calendar (like a club website) and so forth. It
would be even better if you could post a review of the businesses and
editable by the community like a wikipedia.

Let me know!

Amanda
