Something you said in the below response triggered a possible answer to
your problem. It will depend on the keyboard shortcut you are using.
Make sure your shortcut doesn't use the Alt key. I experienced a similar
situation and found that only using the Control key got around the issue
and changed all of my shortcuts appropriately.
In the example I sent you yesterday, I used the default Ctrl+Shift+P.
Apparently this combination works also. What I did yesterday did not use
the timed capture. I was able to define the pull-down area and then
select the pull-down arrow to capture the entire drop-down list.

Yes, I tried timed capture at the suggestion of TechSmith support.
During
the countdown, I opened the drop-down. When the countdown finished, the
cursor changed to cross-hairs to mark that area to capture. As soon as I
clicked to mark the area, the drop-down list disappeared.
And because it's a drop-down on a dialog for a software application
we're
developing, I can't send the page to anyone to look at!
But if I do find a solution, I'll be sure to post it!
