And to take it a step further, our translators localize the
measurements,
changing it to "metric (US)."

I don't know if there is a "standard", other than what your style guide
tells you.
In our documentation we have always supplied the measurement in US
values with the metric equivalent in parentheses; 6.5 in x 12 in (15.3
cm x 30.5 cm).
A tip, get one conversion application (there are many free ones
available) a for all of the writers on the project. This ensures, to
some degree, consistency in the calculations.
