Hi everyone,
So, I have about 6 different and separate documents in which the styles are
similar but have been updated with each successive new document. I need the
styles to be the same in all 6 documents. This mainly concerns paragraph
styles.
When I use the Organizer to overwrite the the similar styles in older
documents, 1 of 2 things usually occurs.
1) The fonts on certain styles jump from 10 pt to 12 pt.
2) Or, some styles with linked numbering loses its numbering.
For number 2, the styles may either lose the numbering completely; have some
numbering on certain paragraphs but not on others even though the same
custom style is designated in the styles box; or have numbering but lose the
numbering in the styles box so that if I were to edit and apply the style
again, the numbering is not there. For one visually descriptive example,
let's say there are two paragraphs. Both say they are using the same style.
The first paragraph has lost it's numbering, meanwhile the second paragraph
still shows number formatting. All the while, the style dialog box has also
lost it's number formatting.
Tried transfer/overwrite with both documents and templates and it seems to
make no difference. Using automatically update also gives me similar errors.
Sometimes when I re-transfer a numbered style, it seems to put the numbering
back, but then sometimes it does nothing.
Is there some sort of numbering I should be transferring/overwriting? Or a
better, smoother way to consolidate my styles?
Thank you so much :)
