Try Scribus www.scribus.net. It may not do all of the things FM does, but
it does an awful lot! Good PDF export, preflight checking, CMYK, etc.

I do like OO, but the powerpoint import/export is still not up to
production standards. I use Writer, but I need a ppt compatibility more
often.
