Subject:Cannot update index in Word From:Larry Landis <lawrence_landis -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Mon, 21 Aug 2006 08:01:42 -0700 (PDT)
I have a Word doc with a table of contents, table of
figures, and index. When I select all and hit F9 to
update, the TOC and TOF update OK, but Word says it
can't update the index.
Also, the first section has page numbers in roman
numerals in the footer, and the second section has
them starting with "1". Whenever I update, the second
section page numbers go back to continuing from the
first section. (So if the first section goes from "i"
to "xii", the second starts at "13".)
I assume both problems are related, so any suggestions
would be most appreciated (before this drives me any
more nuts).
