FWD: Cutting a contract short
Your allegiances are to your career and mental health.
If the company that you're working for was faced with
down-sizing, do you think they'd lose sleep worrying that
they would annoy you if they let you go?
A good point, and even more true for contractors like anonymous.
One thing to keep in mind (though not to say ;) ) is that the
client is employing you through a body shop ("agency")
precisely so they can have the flexibility to let you go with
a minimum of fuss - you needn't feel *more* loyalty to them
than you would as an actual employee!
So long as you are professional and decent to everybody involved,
you *shouldn't* burn any bridges by leaving a "six month contract"
at three months (except with people who walk around like
tinderboxes, always ready to burn).
