To be honest, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "reserved" so please
forgive me if this information is duplicate and I've missed another part of
this thread. I'm sure this is very frustrating and I hope I can help.
With the document open, in the Word menu, click "View" and then click
"Headers and Footers". In the footer do you see one paragraph marker or
many paragraph markers?
If many paragraph markers are displayed, delete them. Word will leave one
paragraph marker, but it will be ignored.
If you see one paragraph marker, the footer is empty and is being ignored by
Word. To change amount of white space in the bottom of a document for such a
situation, in the Word menu, click "File" and then click "Page Setup". Under
"Margins", change the amount of space listed in the "Bottom" box.
If you do not see paragraph markers and can not find such a button to
display them, in the Word menu, click "Tools" and then click "Options".
Under "Formatting marks", click "Paragraph marks" and then click "OK".
Then, try the troubleshooting steps in the above two paragraphs in this
email.
I'm assuming that you are trying to change this space for all pages in the
document. Let me know if that is not the case. I hope this helps.

Subject: Word Email List Recommendation
I just spent half an hour looking through the archives and another half hour
surfing but I can't find THE MSWord email group that people recommend.
Please, could someone tell me one more time which group is best? I need to
figure out why I can't get the footer area removed (there's nothing in it
but it's reserved, if you know what I mean). Thanks very much!
