All I have is an anecdote. When I was between regular jobs in
2003 I had a number of interviews that didn't go anywhere, and
when I mentioned to my wife that a lot of the interviewers had
been younger than me she suggested that it might give me a bit
more of a "competitive advantage" if I took out the grey in my
temples. Within a month or two of doing this I snagged two
contracts, and a few months later a tech pubs manager position.
Was it a factor? Don't know.
