All,
Lisa has moved on to other opportunities, and we
(Deb and I on TECHWR-L, Brad on Framers) are in the
process of picking up the pieces. We (Deb and I )
got to learn of the transition at the same time you
did--earlier today. ("Passed the reins to Eric in
mid-August" is simply incorrect and untrue.)
I'm dumfounded. As with most of us Whirlers, we only see the list
from the outside. The gritty details of keeping it running was not
our concern, only the transfer of information, the solution of
problems, and the stress relief of the Friday follies. However,
TECHWR-L did not appear on its own and does not operate by magic. The
problems Eric wrote about in his e-mail show just how fragile this
wonderful resource is for it's members. I remember when Eric and Deb
transferred the list serv's responsibility to Lisa. It was relatively
painless and extremely smooth. So should it be transferring the
responsibility back to Eric and Deb. If there are legal and financial
problems, then those problems should be discussed and a resolution
developed, then Lisa can move on to her new position and Eric, Deb and
the TECHWR-L community can move on with their lives.
