TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'm dumfounded. As with most of us Whirlers, we only see the list from
the outside. ...<SNIP>... If there are legal and financial problems,
then those problems should be discussed and a resolution developed,
then Lisa can move on to her new position and Eric, Deb and the
TECHWR-L community can move on with their lives.
I'm sure no one needs to be reminded that there are always two
sides to every story. I don't intend this to mean I am "taking sides" --
I know absolutely nothing of the situation between the parties
involved, and frankly, I do not care to learn. I've been a member of
the list for several years and have much appreciated having it as a
resource, regardless of whose control it was under.
I hope the airing of any and all "legal and financial problems" can be
kept off list where it belongs.
I see the confusion now....when I said they need to be discussed and
resolved, I meant Eric, Deb and Lisa should discuss and resolve THEIR
differences. Dana and others who have commented on my posting are
correct. We are members not the owners of TECHWR-L, so what happens
at that level is not and should not be any of our business. My only
hope is that it does not affect this forum.
