Thanks to all who answered. Now I've got a ton of hosting services to
explore (Dreamhost seems to be a winner) and some good advice to get me
started.
To answer some of the questions y'all asked ---
I plan to use Dreamweaver, if the luck gods are with me (I _think_ I have
access to a license). I've used it in the past and that's what I'm most
comfortable with. I want it to look nice and professional so I plan to spend
some time on the design.
Comcast's free web space, as near as I can figure, is limited to their
pre-ordained formats, which are very limited and about as non-intuitive to
set up as you can get. I spent some time trying to set something up this
morning only to discover that it didn't save any of my changes. Not worth
the trouble. 'Sides - the free sites only have 25 meg of space and I think
I'll be going over that.
Thanks again for your advice. You folks are awesome!
-Karen

Subject: Starting a personal website
I'm working myself up to starting a personal website. Nothing fancy or big,
just a place to showcase some of my work and pictures of my critters.
I'm looking for advice on finding a web host. Anything I should watch out
for or worry about? Any other advice or recommendations would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Karen Murri
