Are you working through an agency? If so, then the way to deal
with the "pressure" is to ask your agency how they want you to
deal with it. You are their employee, not the client's, and if you
work off the clock you are not only giving up pay you are entitled
to, you are helping the client cheat your agency.

If you're not working through an agency, then you need to
discuss amending your contract to specify a different default
work schedule.

Unless the company is prepared to let you take time off for
personal reasons and still charge them for the time, there is
no reason why you should be working additional hours for them
off the books.

Question for all who do W2 contract work:

Do you ever feel pressured to work overtime for free (off the clock work)?
