Some of my better writing efforts would make relatively poor portolio examples. The concept of acceptable quality level comes into play. If the existing documentation is totally disjointed and time is tight, then on time OK looking documentation can be a very significant accomplishment. Alternatively, if I am largely just cosmetically changing the work of others, then, while I may have a very attractive portfolio example, it is a relatively poor example of what I can do.
How is acceptable quality level handled in portfolios?

I?ve been surprised at how many times I?ve been hired without someone

in advance. If I didn?t like the writing samples, the person would never
make it to an interview.
