TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'm a newcomer to the list and have been out of mainstream tech
writing for a while.
I'm keen to build a portfolio of work to help me find a new job as a tech
writer. A colleague mentioned the Open Source Writers Group as a
place to register for voluntary work, but their web site seems to be
out of date (last post in 2000) and the link to their new site doesn't
work.
Is the OSWG no more? And if so, can anyone suggest how else I can get
involved in tech writing for Open Source software?
