When I worked at a networking company, spell-checking saved me from describing "newtwroks," which I was consistently wont to do.
I think that was just a synchronization problem, but I do believe in Freudian typos. At a previous employer, before the spell-check era, we went on a customer-site visit, and the boss wrote up the trip report. He didn't want to include our notes, but we insisted. He appended them under the heading "Miscellaneous points worth nothing."
