I used D2H 2.5(!!) in 1998. My recollection is that I had multiple Word
docs within my projects. So, if you are equating "modular" with
"multiple source files <Word docs in this example> instead of a single
source Word file," then yes, I think that is the best way to go. I was
documenting software that had a row of icons. Each icon took you to a
specific window. I remember having a separate Word doc for each icon.
I have not used D2H since 1998 so I don't know how that paradigm applies
to the D2H Enterprise software.

Right now, I'm using Doc-to-Help Enterprise (latest build), MS Word
2003, Paint Shop Pro XI to build the html help. The source
documentation, if I were to put it into a single word document, would be
well over 50 MB, and that's likely to corrupt.
