The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Just make sure you park it in an RV park. A couple of weeks ago, while
stopping at the office of the trade magazine I do some work for in a local
industrial park, I noticed a big RV in the parking lot. When I asked who was
driving the RV to work the response was "Oh ****, time to call the cops
again." Turns out that girls from out of town who perform at a nearby strip
club have a habit of parking their RV in parking lots within walking
distance.

This is a great way to become available for out-of-town work at any
stage of your career. Pick up a neglected RV ("barn queen") cheap, and
start answering those calls for work far from home. The tax-time
deduction for your mobile office should be gratifying. I've been RV'ing
to distant work sites for years.
I've got to admit that the idea of doing it as retirement travel sounds
zesty. I, perversely, got into it as a means to full employment.
