Subject:RE: Split a Table cell into 4 equal diagonals. From:"Chinell, David F \(GE Indust, Security\)" <David -dot- Chinell -at- GE -dot- com> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 17 Nov 2006 10:07:32 -0500
Sairam:
If you mean that you want a cell to be divided into quarters by putting an X through it, you can:
1. Select the cell.
2. Choose Format > Borders and Shading
3. On the Borders tab, define the line you want to use, then click both diagonal rule boxes. (These are in the lower-left and lower-right corners of the Preview area.)
This will put the rules through the cell, but it won't actually divide the cell into four chunks you can color.
The closest you can come is to use paragraph spacing and alignment to position the text in each triangular section, then add shading to the text.
Perhaps a better approach would be to create the desired effect in a graphics program, then paste the resulting image into an unmodified cell.
