Just recently I added graphic designer to my job description.
Thankfully, I've been using Photoshop and Illustrator for a few years on
my own-sometimes it feels like I'm playing, but I love learning new
programs.
I've also made it my mission, as a disciple of Edward Tufte, to stamp
out PPPPs (Pointless PowerPoint Presentations) here-so I guess you could
also say I'm a trainer of sorts.
What I love about this job is the lack of a linear process, which I find
boring. (If I had been born ten years later, I would have been on
Ritalin, I'm sure.) And also, as the first technical writer my company
has ever had, I'm still creating my own position.
