   Better yet,
   it's the kind of information that should go into the operator's manual for
   the vehicle.  For that matter, the auto industry could make a tidy sum and
   do their customers a huge service---offer emergency kits, tailored to
   regional climates, with the vehicles at the time of purchase. I for one
   would be glad to buy a kit that contained the thermal blanket, flares,
   batteries, emergency rations, etc.  Just like car insurance, you gotta pay
   for it, you may never need to use it, but if you do.....
