Oh, I agree. I think this approach is so normal for me that it's
difficult for me to justify to someone who disagrees. Sort of like
defending yourself when you are caught buttoning your shirt up from the
bottom instead of down from the top.
The simple nature of tables -- at least, how we use tables in my company
-- allows for rows to be skipped if the condition doesn't fit your
situation. If she's worried about non-sequential numbering, she is
really adding to the problem.
