It +is+ a no-brainer. Nobody here has argued that crude language is
acceptable, or that a candidate shouldn't be removed from the shortlist
on the basis of using it.
The disagreement was whether a candidate should be removed from the
shortlist simply for having a non-loud, non-crude argument with his
partner over the phone.
Since the specific argument that started this discussion was (it turns
out) both loud and bespangled with Anglo-Saxon, I think we can all get
behind the decision not to shortlist that candidate.
