If there is sufficient financial liability attached to providing
incorrect information, then the organization will have stringent checks
and balances in place. Those checks and balances will probably not be
the responsibility of the Technical Writer but of upper management.
If there is not sufficient financial liability involved, most of us get
by with a legalistic disclaimer that nobody assumes any liability for
anything put into or left out of the documentation.
(If you don't have such a disclaimer, you probably forgot to include it
in the transition from print to electronic formats.)
