I'm sorry Bryan, but someone who doesn't understand the inherent problem
with using software to translate documents (e.g., parsers are pretty
dumb) won't understand the complexities for a person translating from a
Germanic into a Latinate language. You could give him a crash course in
general linguistics, generative grammar, and current parsing technology,
but that probably wouldn't help, either.
My suggestion-let the software do the translation, then translate it
back into English. The mangled output may be enough to convince him.
