TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Once when I was hiring a writer, one applicant put his golf handicap on
his resume. Not sure why he thought that related to the position. But if
I recall correctly, he was applying from an unrelated job area - he
worked on a railway and was looking for a career change. My thinking is
that you help the recruiter wade through a gang of resumes by providing
the information he or she is looking for and not a whole lot more in a
way that is easily scanned. Which makes me think providing a list of key
words on a resume might be helpful.
Just my .02 worth,
Ron

It's probably just where I live, but boomer experience
has not been a plus for me except in a very few settings...
