Hi Nancy,

Here are some suggestions:

1. Table > Table Properties. There are options for indenting from the
left and if Text Wrapping is set to Around, the Positioning button (and
Table Positioning dialog) enable you to enter distances from surrounding
text.
2. Set up other styles to use spacing before and after paragraphs.

You can also set up styles using the Style type "Table".
I am using Word 2003.

Hope this helps,

Kind regards,
Katherine

How do you assign a margin before and after a table? In Framemaker, you
can assign it just as you do a paragraph (Space before: 6 pt. -- like
that).

That seems the simplest way to set tables off from the surrounding text.
Is there something similar in Word? I've dutifully searched the online
help and don't find anything.
