You didn't say you wanted to maintain the 'text only' version.
I'd do some googling on this, I'm sure the macros already exist if you can't
get the one Edgar supplied to work.
Thought: Not sure what state Word's HTML output ends up in, but have you
tried saving the HTML and just manually deleting the images from the output
folder? You'll either end up with lots of "red x" placeholders or if you are
lucky the browser might just pretend they were never there in the first
place... Just a thought, and not really a solution!

If I delete the images I will then have to maintain two separate copies of
the user manual - one with graphics and one without. If I could produce a
text only using the same source it would be better.
