I don't agree. A letter of recomendation, just like a resume, is not
a writing test. It is what it is.
The best letter I have in my portfolio is from a manager who's first
language was Russian, a VERY intelligent guy (he's now a VP at
Merrill Lynch's "Center for Innovation and Creative Excellence") and
the grammar sounds like English is his second language, though not
TOO bad. However, it is the most impressive recommendation I've ever
seen from anyone.
My second best is from a manager who was Lebonese and his first
language was French. Again, some odd phrasing, and I wouldn't change
a word.
