Subject: RE: indexing markers in FrameMaker--deleting globally
It's really easy if you have the IXgen add-on (which I highly
recommend). The procedure in that case would be:
-select the files to process (in the IXgen UI)
-generate an editable list of markers
-delete all the text from the appropriate column of the
editable list table
-reimport the editable list into files of the book
No more index markers in the files.
The editable marker list also makes it easy for you to
selectively keep some of the markers rather than taking
a scorched earth approach. And editing markers for
consistency is so much easier in a list rather than in situ
that you might decide not to do a global delete after all.
No commercial connection to IXgen--just a happy customer.
