With all due respect, I believe it is important that we share when another means of communication (technical or otherwise) is not working.
If, for instance, the phone lines or a cellular service in a particular region were down, would it not be appropriate to discuss it and relevant information here?
These sorts of things are vital to our functioning in the modern world.
My 2 cents.
