This is actually a great technique whenever dealing with
*anyone* with the sad habit of wild accusations, in the workplace
or out. Just craft the shortest, least engaging/engagable answer
for the situation; e.g.:
"No, I never said that; see you later."
"Sorry, I don't have it."
And repeat ad nauseum, to any and all attempts to draw you out.
"But you're the only one who could have taken it!"
-"Sorry, I don't have it."
"But Mary said she saw you with it."
-"Sorry, I don't have it."
Etc.
Someone like this really does feed off of responses. Don't
let them drag you into their misery :)
