Variables in Word: Start with http://tinyurl.com/23nglr.
ASK fields are also a common method... It depends on what kind of
variables you want and how you intend to use them.
Conditions in Word: Geoff Hart names four distinct methods at http://tinyurl.com/22yq8l.
Another possibility is IF fields, which support Boolean operators.
People with money to burn buy Live-Linx Conditional Text for Word.
Snippets: You *could* use AutoText. But to build and manage a proper
snippet collection, I think you need to buy something: See http://www.wordaddin.com ($50) or http://www.nereosoft.com/DataPortal.html ($75). If anyone knows of a
free alternative, speak up!
