RE: "a" or "an" before a vowel sound file extension
Subject:RE: "a" or "an" before a vowel sound file extension From:"Lauren" <lt34 -at- csus -dot- edu> To:"'Dennis DeSantis'" <dennis -at- dennisdesantis -dot- com>, "'techwr-l'" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Wed, 16 May 2007 10:31:20 -0700
I read "dot" but "dot" is not really part of the extension because it is a
separator. So it may be inaccurate to read "dot" in my head, but I do it
anyway, so "a .aaa extension" reads wrong for me.
Additionally, when we use a "." and say "extension," aren't we being
repetitive? ".xls" is an "xls" extension. We can search for ".xls" files
or files with an "xls extension." ".xls extension" is repetitive for me.
