Correct me if I'm wrong but some affiliates collect Amazon royalty based
on buyers who are directed via URLs identifying the affiliate. That info
may be buried in that querystring you are suggesting that we discard.
TW tie-in. Could be analogous to Help writers who hide eggs in the help
crediting themselves as writer. Few know it's there but it's a tiny
payment in recognition. :-) By the way, I've never actually done this.

work? The "Real-World-QuarkXPress" is there for search
engines, and the "ref=(long string of stuff)" is
session data to keep track of variables specific to
the user who found the link.
