Thanks to those of you who have responded to my request about the use of
online vs. on-paper editing. I do hope to gather even more responses, but
the ones I have received so far have been very helpful.
Two points of response:
(1) I was deliberately generic when I asked about "editing." My class covers
almost the full gamut, from substantive editing to rearrange content down to
proofreading to tweak commas. So responses about any level of edit are
appreciated.
(2) I plan to follow up Geoff Hart's excellent suggestion of creating a web
survey and asking for responses from this forum and similar groups. This
seems a good way to get an idea of whether the focused has moved online as
much as I think it has. I'll create the survey in the next day or two, and
hope some of you will be generous enough to click a few buttons.
