In response to Lauren's comment "Full service" gas is a thing of the past
and shopping had better not follow the same path. Naturally, being as geeky
as I am, if I was regularly ...."
When I lived in Oregon it was the same way...you could not pump your own
gas. In most other places where I've lived (Alaska, New Mexico, Michigan,
Vermont....), you pumped your own gas.
In response to Lauren's worry about there not being a need for technical
writers if everything becomes self-serve and GUIs are so user friendly they
walk you through everything, someone has to write those GUIs and document
the behind the scenes stuff. Death, taxes and technical writers....you can't
get away from them.
