Pictures can be linked using the Insert>>Picture menu item as well. When you 
choose the picture with the dialog box, instead of just clicking the Insert 
button, click the drop-down arrow on the Insert button and choose Insert 
Link. Changes to the picture are automatically updated when you open or 
print the document (with default settings) or by highlighting the picture 
then pressing the F9 key.
