TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Yeah, when Richard Lewis first appeared, he went through a stage where
he'd get confused from time to time and post from Tony's email account
instead of his own.
This behavior is known as "sockpuppetry" -- using a pseudonym to post
things in support or defense of yourself. I really like that word and
the image it evokes.
For some amusing revelations about a somewhat well-known
columnist/author who apparently engages in it, google "sockpuppetry
greenwald" (sans quotes).
If you're going to adopt multiple identities, it helps if they each have
their own email and/or IP address (and you keep them straight). ;-)
